Split nuts when installed split into 4 legs leaving a wide clamp-up tail formation and an insert thread. Split Nuts are designed for use in soft materials, plastics, and composites as these provide extra blind side bearing area when used.
Split Nuts come with various advantages
The split insert nuts are available in Steel Grades, zinc plated trivalent passivated. These are used in variable grip ranges ranging from grip range 0.5 mm to 12.0 mm. The sizes are as below:
