The 9th Fastener Fair Global attracts nearly 11,000 visitors from 83 countries, setting new records for exhibition space and international participation.
Fastener Fair Global 2023, the 9th international exhibition for the fastener and fixing industry, concluded with record-breaking success at the Messe Stuttgart exhibition center in Germany. After four years since the previous edition in 2019, the event reasserted its position as the premier gathering for the global fastener industry, attracting professionals from across the manufacturing and industrial sectors.
Record Exhibition Scale
Fastener Fair Global 2023 welcomed around 1,000 exhibitors from 46 countries, filling halls 1, 3, 5 and 7 of the exhibition venue. Covering a net exhibition space of over 23,230 square meters—a 1,000 square meter increase compared to the previous show in 2019—exhibitors presented the complete spectrum of fastener and fixing technologies. The 2023 edition represents the biggest Fastener Fair Global to date, demonstrating the industry's resilience and continued growth.
The exhibition featured industrial fasteners and fixings, construction fixings, assembly and installation systems, and fastener manufacturing technology. This comprehensive coverage ensured visitors could discover solutions for every application and requirement across the fastener value chain. The expanded floor space accommodated both returning exhibitors and new companies entering the European market.
International Participation
Almost 11,000 trade visitors from 83 countries attended the three-day event, reflecting the truly international nature of the fastener industry. Around 72% of all visitors came from abroad, with Germany being the biggest visitor country followed by Italy and the United Kingdom. Other major European visitor countries included Poland, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Belgium.
Asian visitors mainly came from Taiwan and China, demonstrating the continued importance of Asian manufacturers in the global fastener supply chain. The most important industries visitors represented were metal products, automotive industry, distribution, construction industry, mechanical engineering, hardware/DIY retailing, and electronic/electrical goods. The majority of visitors were fastener and fixing wholesalers, manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
Innovation Recognition
On the second show day, Fastener + Fixing Magazine hosted the award ceremony for the Route to Fastener Innovation competition, announcing the winners of the Fastener Technology Innovators awards. Three exhibiting companies were recognized for their innovative fastener and fixing technologies introduced to the market within the last 24 months.
Scell-it Group won first place with its patented E-007 power tool designed to install hollow wall anchors. Growermetal SpA secured second place for its Grower SperaTech®, featuring a spherical top washer combined with a conical seat washer. SACMA Group took third place for its RP620-R1-RR12 combined thread and profile rolling machine. These innovations demonstrated the industry's continued focus on technological advancement.
Exhibitor Satisfaction
A first analysis of exhibitor feedback showed that participating companies were highly satisfied with the outcome of Fastener Fair Global 2023. A vast majority of exhibitors were able to reach their target groups and praised the high quality of trade visitors. The event provided an essential platform for reconnecting with industry colleagues after the pandemic-related postponement.
